Im gonna install the drip rail trim on my 68 charger, is there a technique or plastic tool i should use . The pieces are mint and i dont wanna dammage them. Thanks
The way I do it is, slide one lip over either the top or bottom, then pop the other side over, working it slowly from front to rear. Either way, be careful of your paint. A little movement up front in the trim, makes a lot of movement on the other end. Lay some towels or blanket over the paint or have someone give you a hand.
Look at the rim real close. Most drip rail trim installs bottom edge first. The top edge has a small "S" curve so that there is no sharp edge rubbing against painted metal when it is popped into place. The bottom edge is more of a "hook". Just get the bottom edge started and pop it on at the top and continue on. All I ever use is my hand. PBlaster or WD40 won't hurt to spray the drip rail with either.
I installed mine by starting on catching the top of the moulding first and they snap down. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR..... THIS IS A 2 PERSON JOB BECAUSE WHEN THEY SNAP IN ( THEY DONT SLIDE MUCH UP AND DOWN )
