Are these rods for the interior door handles the same for driver and passenger door on a 68 Coronet?

The reason for my question is. When installed on the drivers door the rod is hitting the part of the latch that moves to release the latch.

I tried to get pictures showing how it hits when the interior handle is pulled.

It pushes the bar of the latch over and the part of the latch that gets pulled by the rod does not contact it properly so the latch doesn’t fully release using the interior handle. There is no problem using the exterior handle.

I figured out the problem. The clip on the latch end of the rod is there to keep tension on the rod and pushing it towards the outside of the door. This way the part of the latch that was catching on the rod doesn’t happen. It is different from the other types of clips on newer cars I am used to that keep the rods secure into the latch.

Here are a couple pictures with it installed correctly.
