in B body restoration book they refer to the interior paint as 60 degree gloss
I have also seen a reference to 30 gloss
what exactly do they mean?
gloss, semi gloss?

Gloss is shiny, flat is not, semi-gloss is in between. Guessing that a 30 gloss might be 30% gloss paint mixed in with 70% flat paint. I could be wrong.

The lower the number the higher the gloss....The 20 degree angle is normally used for high gloss surfaces, the 60 degree angle for medium gloss surfaces, and the 85 degree angle for low gloss surfaces. Other angles of measurement are used for specific applications, such as 75 degrees for plastic film, and 45 degrees for vinyl siding.

Duplicolor Ford Semi Gloss black is a dead ringer for the 30 degree gloss black I learned from a very reliable source. I have also used VHT Gloss black epoxy and seems to be a close one too. For the number of people who restore Mopars, I am surprised no one has developed and marketed a paint for such the purpose called "MOPAR 30 DEGREE GLOSS BLACK". I would have bought it instead of trials and errors galore.
