Is this 72 Road Runner grill aluminum?

I am thinking about patching the damaged honeycomb before it gets any worse. Can anyone identify (for sure) what type/alloy metal the 72 Road Runner grille is made from? Thank you.

Hell, for about 5K you could buy one right here on FBBO from a fellow "enthusiast. I store a spare grill but don't have the million dollar 71-72.

I would just use JB Weld. Once you paint it you'll never know it's there.

Try a magnet. If it's aluminum it won't stick.
And don't let anyone pull that special and hard to find "aluminum magnet" trick on ya'.

Why don't you just get some new mesh and replace that. Here is a site that sells rolled steel hexagon mesh in different sizes. http://www.mcnichols.com/products/perforated/hexagonal-hole
