if you pop that out you are going to have a huge nasty black spot under it that you will never match with the rest of the bay... plus it's stock and you will lose points at concours with it gone..

The looks of a weld are secondary to the quality of the weld. An ugly weld that's good, is preferable to a pretty weld that's bad.
