Got it back together and got a few issues. First is the power steering. I started to bleed the pump and box and it was real hard turing to the right and loose to the left. I rerouted the pressure line the way the service manual said and it got a little better. But it's still stiffer going to the right than left. Should I shorten the return line? It's the same lenght as when I got it 18 inches.

Second problem is the instrument cluster. I got it back together and now the gas guage dosen't work the hot cold temp indicator is not working, The oil light is on engine runs fine and the headlights don't work but all other lights work. Amp meter works wipers work. What am I missing here. Thanks

Raise the front wheels off of the ground to remove resistance, and continue to bleed the pump and steering gear.

It's on jackstands wheels are off. Does it take along time to bleed these things Should I shorten the return line Thanks

The return line will not affect anything. Some bleed fast, and others take convincing. I replaced the pump on my 87 Dodge D250, and was good almost immediately. Overnight, it was hard, and difficult to bleed, so I drove it around the yard, and finally bled out. Has been fine ever since. I actually felt a thunk when the air bubble let loose.
