Going to document the repairs one is responsible for when having six motor vehicles in the household and two adult drivers. To be updated as things continue to break down and are repaired.

1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet Convertible V-8 auto with manual steering and brakes (needs complete restoration but drives and stop). Latest repairs: new tires and brakes. Pending repair needed: now horn honks when turning steering wheel.

1965 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S (factory p/s, p/b, a/c not working). Latest repairs: body just restored and present 318 rebuilt about ten years ago. Pending repair needed: Front buckets need reupholstering (driver's side seat tracks restored, but currently no seats installed in vehicle)

1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus V-8 auto with power disc brakes and power steering. Latest repairs: body restored, interior restored, Torqueflite 904 rebuilt and present 318 rebuilt by a previous owner a long time ago. Pending repair needed: front brake overhaul.

1992 Jeep Cherokee XJ: spare for daily drivers (purchased in 2000, we are second owners). Latest repairs: rear brake shoes; new alternator. Pending repair needed: Well, battery died twice now while parked and once after having charged battery just a few days before (cheap battery had a six-month guarantee).

1996 Dodge Dakota 3.9L 4X4 five-speed: daily driver (purchased new from dealer with 295,000 mile on the odometer now). Latest repair: a/c heater blower resistor replaced (at times blower still stops, then starts again). Pending repairs needed: new paint and upholstery.

2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4X4: daily driver (purchased from used car dealer) Latest repairs: rear brake shoes, replaced radiator and power steering pump. Pending repairs needed: driver side electric window switch; new paint and upholstery.

Mercy....looks like your free time is spoken for, least for a while.

You want to play (in multiples especially),
then you gotta pay the piper sooner or later

not even counting my old company trucks,
as many as 14 at one time, mostly leased/fleet deals, with service

try having raised 6 kids, all thru driving & school stages
(4 of my own, 3 girls 1 boy & 2 others, my niece & nephew)
& me having multiple cars, trucks, tow rigs & car trailers
or RV & 5th Wheel not to mention horses & livestock trailers)
Jeeps
Toyota SR5 4x4s
Toyota SR5 2 wd
VW Beatle or Baja Bug (different years)
Manx Dune Buggy
Mitsubishi Eclipse
several different years of late 80's Turbo Supras (Lisa loved them)
Ford 4x4 flatbed pu
Nissan 2d pu
Power Wagons, 4x4 5.9 Cummins my DD/work trucks
Kodiac Intermediate, my tow rig
several different classic cars at any time
RRs Chargers Camaros/Z28s 442s Buicks Trans Ams etc.
usually 2 racecars, my 23 T &/or the 27 T Altereds
& any one or 2 my T/S/Outlaw P/S cars
or a car I was building
a min. of 4-5 different trailers 1 open,
1 ATV/Motorcycle trailer,
the enclosed for racecars, wave runner & it's trailer
1 horse trailer (sometimes 2 for Lisa's Horse/s)
livestock trailer
Safari 36' class-A RV diesel pusher
1 boat & trailer

at any 1 time at the peak
I may have forgot something, you get the drift I'm sure

I'm glad I don't deal with that crap anymore

when everyone was licensed & driving
I had a min. of 9 vehicles driven & maintained regularly
plus trailers & boats/water vehicles, dirtbikes motorcycles quads etc.
on top of that

I had a lil' help as they got of age, but did 99% of it myself
they'd all do the simple stuff, even the girls
mostly washing waxing & lube, oil & filters/oil changes
all the kids learned to do basics
& would be my helpers when serious repairs had to be done

I couldn't afford to pay someone else to do it

I'd been more broke than I was already

my shop/warehouse looked like a parts dept. half of the time
I bought oil plugs filters etc., by the crate

it's a lot easier now
my current 68 RR
99 Dakota SLT 4x4
02 F350 4x4 PS diesel dually
17 Chrysler 300c, my sister has right now
77 Tri-hull bowrider Boat, 50hp Merc outboard & lil' dude Trailer
02 5th wheel Jayco 27' Designer trailer
a 20' open trailer, me & my cousin share, it's at his place

more than I'd like

I'm selling the 02 F350 4x4 PS diesel dually (154k miles)
& 02 Jayco 5th wheel Trailer
$30k for the combo if anyone is interested
:poke:
