I spend more time looking for the tools to work on my car than actually working on my car. My tool box was organized.. when I first got it!

My main problem is loaning out a tool and never getting it back and then I forget who borrowed it. I lost my torsion bar removal tool like that. That pissed me off because I also made if from stainless steel. Now if I loan anything, whoever borrows 'signs off' on it just like a tool room in a machine shop does. A friend of mine questioned me "don't you trust me" and I told him I trusted him the least lol. If you don't want to borrow it like that, then go buy your own damn tools like I did cause I'm tired of replacing tools that I already bought once.

-Man can i relate to that. it starts with trailers and goes down from there. 2 boat trailers, 1 tandem up to 30 ft., 1 smaller tandem, up to 24 ft.. 1 single enclosed 12 ft., 1 tandem 24 ft..1 goose neck tandem drop deck. i tell them i don't have insurance for other people. people asking if they can borrow my back hoe, not.
certain people can borrow tools but they have to sign for it. same comment as you, don't you trust me. i tell them i have 2 books, one to borrow and one for rental, you choose. i got tired of trying to remember who i lent stuff too.
as for keeping the shop in order i have a young lad down the road who i let use my shop for his old car and our deal is that he keeps the shop clean and tidy for the use of it.
