If so, congratulations on a great very original project car!

Awesome car !! I would have liked to bid on it. How much did it go for ?

Incredibly original car, white w/red interior, black top. Semi-Hemi (318 poly) with push button automatic. Trunk full of NOS parts. Very light surface rust here and there, but NOTHING serious ANYWHERE. I checked underneath closely with flashlight and mirror. No accidents or body work ever, that I could detect. SOLID car. Passenger side rear quarter trim was damaged most likely during auction handling, that could be a problem to correct. Otherwise all trim was very nice with only a small dent or two here and there. All plastic lenses were intact and no cracks. Obviously the top would need to be replaced. Still, it needed a lot of work to get it up to snuff. Mostly repaint and interior.

I figured another $30k or more (usually more) for "up to snuff" condition doing the work myself. I got out at just a tad over $18k and the auction ended at +$250 from my last bid. Been kicking myself in the *** ever since for not sticking with it.

If you hadn't got out when you did you may have still been in a bidding war.

You got out at a good time. 18k was a little much IMO. Look what finished ones are going for. Nice survivor car though.

Thanks, funny though that I was thinking about you and wondering what you would say about this one. Was wishing I had your knowledge and experience with these cars when I was bidding. I guess my instincts aren't totally wrong.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking when I quit on it. But trying to FIND one that's for sale is the hard part. Man was this thing solid though, I ran my hand along ALL the normal rust areas and didn't feel ANY bodywork anywhere. Underside was just as solid and nice looking too.

There is a convertible for sale in El Paso Texas. I want the drive train. You can have the car

I did a quick search on a few that's for sale at the moment and they look like they have gone up in value some. Maybe up to a 5k increase as to what I've seen a year ago. Then of course the parts for these has gone up a lot in a years time also. So all of that has to be considered.

I've always said it's all in what you want in the end. You might invest a lot more than what it's worth in the beginning but they do appreciate in value the longer you keep it. I paid more for mine than what it was worth but it was from a dry climate and rust free. Saves lots of money on replacing metal. Today, what I paid for it originally, would be a great price. I'll probably sell it in the future. I've always liked the '65 Satellite and would make some kind of a deal if the right one comes along. Other than that I'll keep having fun with this one.
