it was a regular deal until maybe the mid-late 90's
when a certain PC party started going after guns of any kind
all of my friends had toy guns, growing up, so did my sister Candy
we had M-16 or other machine guns & a Daisy &/or Red Ryder lever action
even the BB guns, we'd play with, make pew pew bang bang noises
or shoot cans or pick off dragonfly's in the back yard
toy guns were all very popular, in my era (I was born 1959)
so were toy gun toting dolls for girls
or gun toting action figures for boys
I had some cap pistol/rifle from Roy Rogers as a child
I had a Lone Ranger get up & dual holsters/Chrome cap Pistols w/fake pearl handles
at one time too
(can't remember the name/brand)
there was ones that shot bullet shaped plastic projectiles too
off the top of my head I can't remember the name or brand
Johnny West rifle & pistol IIRC (probably not right)
