I have the springs and rear out of my 68 Charger. The 8 3/4 and springs are original to the car and have never been removed. I'm installing an S60 and new springs from ESPO Springs and Things. The springs are 6 leaf HD springs. Should the front hangers be replaced also? They look fine, there is no corrosion where they mount and I also installed torque box. I am doing this because of stroker engine going into car soon. Looking at 650 torque. Your thoughts?

I agree with Fran you are doing a nice upgrade the plates will be a nice sercurity package. Did you also get new u bolt kit. Have your perches been boxed up.

Yes new U bolt kit. What exactly do you mean by "perches been boxed up" ? Do you mean the spring perch welded to the top of the axle tube?

Yes sir don't want to crush them when testing that lead foot. Lol sounds like a great upgrade show us some pics when finished. Good luck

You weld in a 2" wide 1/4" strip of from axle tube to the perch inside back. Big tires and traction do this . Picture from malex thread. Page 20 post 392. go there for more info.

Chevy's and Ford's don't have to worry about this. Cause they have a power problem.
