I am doing an OE restoration and wanted to know how the Leaf Springs were detailed from the Factory. I assume they were painted black but was each leaf painted separate and then assembled leaving the Galvanized Straps unpainted? If not was the entire assembly painted at once making everything painted black?

Any Info and or pictures of an OE factoy restoration would be great!

Thank you!

Depended on the car line and supplier of the week. Bare steel for the most part but some got Black paint.

did they paint the entire assembly to include the leaf straps

No idea. Aftermarket they do but IMHO it just looks sloppy that way. prefer bare leafs coated with Boeshield T9 then assembled or cast silver paint then assembled.
