If you continue reading the thread you'll see that the Mr Rogers/Capt Kangaroo stories get discredited and that PFC Marvin was wounded at Saipan, not Iwo Jima. Semper Fi.

Aside from Lee Marvin... It sounds like propping up a bunch of Hollyweird celebrities/actors, that didn't do what was claimed to have done, by urban legends/folk lore/BS...
Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Audie Murphy {CMOH recipient}, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, Paul Newman, Kirk Douglas, George C. Scott, Harvey Keitel, Elvis Presley & Steve McQueen {both not in war time thou} Gene Hackman, Clint Eastwood, James Earl Jones, Roy Rogers too IIRC, were actually in service & some were even decorated... All honorable men, not like many of the scum we have in Hollyweird today... Happy Memorial Day
