Let's Even Out the Score to Make NASCAR More Interesting

Not sure. But at 18 years old where do you get the funds to support the dream? There to young to actually say they worked very hard to get where there at. You can disagree if you want. But theres some backing somewhere to make there dream come true. My post was a question. Not a fact.
I don’t know this girls story but I would assume she didn’t decide to jump in a car at age 18. Most all these kids are running some sort of cart or dirt car at a very early age. I think the blue oval on her shirt is where the money comes from. NASCAR has been looking for a girl that can drive, I’m sure once they find the next one they’ll have plenty of sponsorship money.

You don't reckon NASCAR wants female racers? Of course they do, same as minority ones.
All part of their broadening the fan base via diversity.
If anything, females are getting more of a "fair shot" at it than equivalent males these days...
Is anyone suggesting the playing field be skewed to give women and minorities an unfair advantage?

We used to go to Dover Downs every year. We would take in the Busch Race (now called Infinity series, I believe) on Saturday before the NASCAR Race on Sunday.
We would have winner pools, crash pools, draft drivers, all kinds of everything fun, back in the heydays of racing.
I would always try to get Patty Moise in the # 14 Lipstick Pink machine.... She made me money a few times crashing out... Sometimes not her fault, MOST of the time it was !!!!
A novelty, not a driver.... Ha ha....
Kinda like the little hu or, Danica....

I hope they do well.. after all it is a sport..

Dodge Back In NASCAR
Don't start that. If Dodge said they were going back to na$car today it would be 3+ years before you saw it.
And it would take a lot of payola to the France family, who hates anything even remotely Chrysler.

The Busch series, aka Infinity, IS na$car.

I started in carts when I was 8, moved to motocross when I couldn't fit in the cart anymore. A guy saw me race moto and asked I would be interested in driving offroad for him, class 1 unlimited. Did okay with the equipment I had but in the long run it takes sponsors to make it happen, speed costs money, how fast do ya wanna go?
If the girl can handle the heat then by all means hand over the keys kick the tires and light the fires...

Jeff Gordon started in carts and she did pretty good for awhile.
Pooboy sold baloney samowiches off the back of the hauler to support their racing. He did all the driving, wrenching, everything!

IMHO, They haven't a chance. The boys won't let it happen. Danica sucked, but she sucked worse because the guys did everything they could to screw with her on the track. The attention the girls get pisses these guys off because it takes away from them, AND there sponsors. She always got camera time because she was a female in a mostly male sport, oh yeah, and in the wall a lot. She had a good ride with $$$ sponsorship but on the track she had NO help and usually they looked to put her in a worse position for no reason other than what she was. Their thought would be there are guys who are better qualified for that ride, but she got it for being a cute little girl. It was tough enough for northerners or west coast guys to break in, much less women.

Hey Slap Stick,
Just gotta say, you are jealous of Jeff Gordon's greatness.....
You are probably a Dale Earnhardt fan.... Am I right??

The best year I ever had at Dover Downs was the year that Dave Marcus in the # 71 passed Dale Earnhardt 7 times !!!!! Those were the 7 LOUDEST ovations in Dover Downs history !!!!!!!

Dodge Back In NASCAR
Ray Evernham did it in 11 months...
grant you 20 years ago almost
with Championship driver Bill Elliot as 'the shoe' even...

if theirs a will there's a way...

it could be done easily if they wanted too
don't ever doubt it, if there's the desire & $$$ to do so

Evernham brought Dodge back, after last time they bailed on NASCAR
they used a couple of old winning chassis of Elliot's for the 2001 debut
(formally were Ford powered/skinned)
& re-skinned it/them with Dodge panels & new Dodge power-plant (R5 IIRC)
before they build their own spec. built Dodge 'Cup & Nationwide' cars, later
actually did pretty damn well, set the stage/paved the way
for a few other now former NASCAR Cup Series champs to get
their Championships too

Roger Penske was one of the Dodge Team owners/winners

Deegan -- remember, she's only 18 -- looks to have all the tools needed by a modern racer. For example, just before sitting down for an interview with The Republic, she finished a telephone call to finalize sponsorship of her No. 4 Ford at Phoenix Raceway by Toter, which manufacturers two-wheel curbside waste and recycling collection bins.

Her willingness to race aggressively, which Deegan says she started doing in off-road truck racing at age 8, got Ford's attention. The automaker signed Deegan as one of its official development drivers, providing her with simulator time and physical training counseling. She debuted for the Blue Oval with a second-place finish in this year's ARCA opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Not really a fan of jeffypoo or Iron Head except when he was teasing little pooboy, the France family's golden child.
Gordon's greatness?
Schrader and Labonte had to set up his cars so he could drive em.
And if jeffypoo was so great why did he say his biggest accomplishment in winged sprints was being passed by Kinser...hell, everybody did that!
I liked ol Wingtip!

If you want Nascar to be more interesting, just watch any race before 1975.
