I have two questions first is a electric problem. My dash lights and dome light don't work the dome light go on when I open the door but when I roll thecreostat up to the position to turn on light it does not come on or the dash lights. The blinkers and flashers don't work also I am thinking it is the reostatet switch. If it is the problem I found a person that can rebuilds them just can't figure out how to remove it. I tried to take off the face plate that covers all of the switches but I will not come off. HELP!!
Also wher can I go to find out the history of my car like what dealership ordered it and who was first buyer
Thanks to anybody out there that can help this new commer to this site

which car?

screws on dash fascia, take them out unplug wiring from under dash, remove dash unit, screws in back that hold each switch in

As above, what car? Year, make, and model, please.

The problem with the instrument and dome lights is indeed in the headlight switch. A mopar replacement switch from NAPA is less than $20 new. If you want the original redone, that is OK; there are 3 places where the rheostat can fail that need attention. To remove the switch, you need to pull out the knob and shaft first. There is a small metal button on the underside of the headlight switch; press it hard and pull out the knob and shaft together. Sometimes you have to try this 2 or 3 times and pull a bit hard. But it wil come out. When that is done, you can remove the special nut holding the switch into the dash or instrument cluster.

The instrument light rheostat has nothing to do with the blinkers and flashers. Identify the car and it will be easier to help on that problem.

You can get the schematic for your car at mymopar.com

Can't help you on the history.
