I'm a B Body guy primarily. But a good car buddy of mine is in need of a 1966-67 Plymouth Sport Fury 4 speed console top plate or shifter plate as it's sometimes called. Anyone have one or know of where one might be? Any help is much appreciated!

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the B and C body consoles are the same from 66-69.

Either way, I see them on eBay, you can also check the classifieds here (as I said, same as B-body), or most of the repo places carry them (Classic, Year1, PG) but they are expensive.

Actually, they are the same through the 1970 model year. The differences are the style of top plates used (machined metal versus woodgrain) and whether the console body is one piece or two pieces.

The two-piece console has a detachable "butt" piece (for Coronet, Satellite, and C-body) and is where the back half of the console attaches on the '66 & '67 Chargers. The 1966 - 1968 cars use the machined metal console tops.

The one-piece console showed up in the 1968 model year. Physically, it is the same as the two-piece, when both pieces are used. These used the woodgrain tops.

ALL of the attachment pieces are physically the same for all five model years. And yes, the SAME console was used in "B" & "C"-body cars for all five years.

Thank you all for your answers, much appreciated! I have thought for years that they are all interchangeable through those years. The part is for a car buddy of mine who was also told they are not. I have sent him all of the information you have sent me. So, we'll see and when he figures it out I'll let you all know. I don't own a C body, not that I wouldn't mind having one.

But, right now I'm in the middle of finishing a 68 Sport Satellite, but got slowed down with an old back injury from my military days. It's being built to race, and 30 years in the garage find. I also have a couple of 65's Satellites. One isn't here yet, just found it, B block 4 speed 65, needs complete restoration. It will be here in March. One that I have now, Small block (318), complete car 65 Satellite, it runs, but is not road worthy. It will be up for sale soon. Yes, I will post it on forbbodiesonly. Photos eventually guys and gals, right now I am looking at surgery and the cars and my running around are slowed down a bit. But I'll be back at it by late spring. Patience please.

Nevada cars don't rust much that's sure. Unfortunately this isn't Mopar country, so I find most of my parts in ID, AZ, WA, MT, and from my buddy in WI. He has a lot of Mopar stuff, and does excellent restoration on everything from switches to consoles. He built me a beautiful console for my 68 Sport Satellite. You can find him on eBay under seller name "sniff-out-parts". In my opinion he's very fair priced and he's a good guy.

So, thanks again, and we'll talk later, Lar
