Hi All

I am looking for a new engine for my 68 Satellite, I was about to rebuild the 340 that was in it,saddly my so called 340 turns out to be a 318, so no longer am I keeping it numbers matching and now keen to put a big block in it,but want something with good bits in it ,not just standard.
If any one has and engine or knows of one please let me know.

Cheers
Phil Mears:)
New Zealand (have shipping agent organised so freight no problem)

Years ago, Hot Rod magazine ran an article on how to build a 330 horse power 318. All I can remember is the recipe used a 318 block, 340 internals, 360 heads and some big thirty valves. The ultimate 318 sleeper, huh?

Blessings,
Shakota

I have one, just fully professionall rebuilt. 69 steel crank, balanced, +.030, crower cam, eddy intake, B/E oil pan, never fired, never installed. Also have a matching 69 727 auto, fully professionally rebuilt, TCI valvebody. Never fired, never installed. $4600 for both, in NJ. Right in the 425 hp / 425 ft.lb range.

AES Racing in Buffalo Grove, IL USA

They can't build a good engine and will look for a core but you of course need a pocketbook with large bills.

if you were over my way i'd swing ya a 383 block with forged crank, forged pistons and forged rods..oh and pro gram 4 bolt mains.........rods and pistons are B/B chev...

for $450.........but alas......not far away tho.
