I have a '15 Shaker, 5.7, auto, leather interior, climate control in the seats. If the Scat Packs were all 392s, then I can maybe comment on that too, as I owned a 2011 Inaugural Edition 392 Challenger, with a 6 speed. I have 13K miles on the '15, and had only 800 on the '11, in 2018. (I know, drive the damn things!)
I absolutely love the new gen Challengers. What's not to like? They are the closest retro look, than the "other" guys, IMO. The performance of the 5.7 is more than adequate. The dash is laid out nicely. The AC is great. The seats are very comfortable but sit low, kind of like the 70's E bodies. I bought the auto trans, because I already had the 2011 with a stick.
Although I didn't drive the '11 392 much, I could say the performance was better than 5.7, but not enough that I miss that extra power. The stick was a blast to drive, but at 6 gears, you are shifting A LOT. I drove in a couple cruises and I know it sucked the gas and I was worried about the clutch. I don't know why, but maybe I was used to the old 4 speeds. The gearing on the 6 speed is incredible, with the engine hardly working at 70 mph. The same goes for the '15, 5.7.
As for the mileage, my automatic did much better than the stick (I know there's a difference in engine size, but just sayin'). On two separate Michigan to Florida trips, with the 5.7 auto, AC blasting, I got 28.0 mpg - no kidding. I just checked right now, and I'm get 22.1 city/highway mix.
