I was passing on a helpful tip on replacing lower radiator hose if anyone was interested, hence, the FYI

There was nothing there but a Red X when I looked at it. Spring.. YES.. I just took my OE one out and put it into the new hose.

I will bet most cars that had hoses replaced do not have the spring.

Old news is new news. Most important if your rads half clogged.
