I recall watching his show as a kid. He would get a word or a phrase from an audience member and make a song out of it right there. Preplanned or not, I don’t know but, always impressed the heck out me how good he was being able to do that! Very good writer and musician and funny!

He, Jerry Reed, JD Souther, the list goes on and on...
Just amazingly gifted folks who were behind a lot more music than most people realized.
It's tough to see them go...
