What type of grease do you guys use in your manual steering boxes?
I rebuilt a box to convert my 63 to manual steering and not
sure what to use.
The old box had what looked like a light viscosity grease similar to Lubraplate 105

Whenever I rebuild one, I pack it with wheel bearing grease, drill a hole in the top cover, screw a zerk fittin in it so I can keep greasing it. Works good.

I've always just used regular HP chassis grease right out of the old grease gun and never had any problems. You want to pack as much grease into the box as you can get in there so that when you are turning, the grease will get all the way to the top of the gearbox. Don't use regular gear oil as it will eventually leak out the bottom seal.
