While wondering around my local junk yard I found this tag on the master Cylinder of a 1972 satellite 400 with power disc brakes. Question is...is tag factory? Or from a reman? I checked a few other mopars in the yard and found tags on some of the 1970-1972 b Bodies and c bodies....so what's the story? Opinions?

Yes it is. I studied Mopar master cylinders and wrote an article about them for Mopar Action in 2005.
Those tags started appearing around 1971 from what I can tell. The 1176 is the last 4 numbers of the Chrysler part number.
I’ve seen tags on 67-69 disc brake MCs too, but those just had the date code.
Bill Rolik reproduces tags like the one you show.

Cool... maybe I should harvest the tags from the yard
