I start on Monday. I haven't worked since Sept 10th. I've been turning wrenches and shop admin for 40plus years on medium trucks and medium to large heavy machinery. The company i worked for was bought and they kept me for nine months when they others go immediately. I appreciated that. I'm tired of not working and starting to get bored. So I am taking a job as a small engine mechanic for a local tractor dealer. This is going to be nice working on light stuff!
Have some cash and will start looking for another project car
Oh, and I bought a smaller two bay box because I'm not moving the big heavy thing anymore. That will stay in my shop loaded with all the big tools I hope to never use again

Best of things for you with your new job. Reckon your employer feels lucky to have you with your experience.

I wish you the best of luck in the new job...

I hope it's what you expect...
I'll bet you're a great tech./mechanic too,
they should be proud to have your years & skills...

I hope it works out for you too...

Seems like a lot of that, going around of late...

Good luck with your new gig. Those small engines are going to be a shock to you at first, after 40 years of heavy equipment.

No overhead crane to remove a head! Sounds good to me. Congrats on the new job.
Hopefully less stress and easy-peasy!

Hope it gos well good luck.

I hope you the best, as I get older I leave the heavy work to the younger guy's! 440'

Best of luck to you in the new job!
I'm sure the lighter aspect is appealing.
I start a new job also on September 1st, it's called retired. Or as many have discovered "working from home" for the Mrs.
The new boss can be a bitch sometimes, or so I've been told.
Funny thing is once you say the magic word " retire" you get all kinds of crazy job offers.

Good luck hope he goes well

The best of luck to you on your new job. After working on ag tractors and equipment a good part of my life, I also have a lot of tools that I’ll probably never use again. Especially the old Roosa-Master pump tools.

The best to you on your New job.

Congrats on the new job. You obviously know what you're doing to land one that quick.

Good for you ! Hope you enjoy it. I think you'll get to appreciate Einstein's first law of physics: "Things get heavier as you get older" Take it light !
