Sad to hear!!

I remember watching him every Saturday in Minnesota as a kid too! I think it was the old AWA days with people like Verne Gagne, Jesse the Bod, Andre the Giant, The Sheik, and even Hulk Hogan when he just came out.

never been a real ol' WWF or the now WWE fan
(scripted sports 'entertainment', it keeps a lot of new era ,of those whom would other be
'stunt men' or ex-professional sports personalities or TV personalities still employed)
my dad religiously watches it 5+hrs a week
Monday Night Raw for 3 hrs & Tuesday Smack-down for 2 hrs
I tolerate it, like he tolerates my car shows
& some of it, even is entertaining
I can't help to know something about it/them,
follow some of the story lines, "characters"
after being subjected to it for decades now...

Mean Gene was great! He had just right personality to make wrestling work on TV in the '60' & '70's. He's younger than I would have guessed. A great entertainer.
