Whether you like the style of this build or not there's no denying Nelson Racing puts up some of the craziest builds and numbers out there.

"Meeting Maximus"
Nelson Racing Engines
1968 Twin Turbo 9.4L Hemi Charger
2000hp....fully fabricated with over 1500 hours into it and there's still plenty more to go! This car has gathered the best in the USA to make it what it is. Maximus is capable of 0-60 in about 2-seconds flat, 8-second ¼ mile passes, 200mph in existing form, and up to 260mph with the planned aero package. To prove it, Nelson has some pretty impressive stunts planned, including a ½-mile race against a Bugatti Veyron, and a track day against a couple modern Italian exotics. I like the look of that build...just a couple of questions;

1. Would the 200mph speed be easier with a flush grille?
2. Would it be safer with hood pins, or has it got some fancy hidden hood locking system?

I would wonder if a flush grille would be part of the "planned aero package" mentioned? I expect there is some form of underhood locking system to eliminate the use of hood pins.... don't see hood pins on other 200mph supercars.

One of the high end resto shops not far from me is doing a pro-street challenger project with a V-10 and they did push button latch releases on the hood (mounted flush just little chrome buttons) I thought it was super cool when I saw it in person.. I'll see if I can find some pics to share

They pointed out in the first video that they are installing those two Porsche hood latches and are in the infant stage of the metalwork to install them. Also an Aero front clip to go past 200MPH to 260.

Shame about the toonie sized dent in the drivers fender.
