Military photos

Cool! Being around big bore small arms is bad enough on the hearing without being around the huge stuff....

Excellent pics!

When the AFA Cadets throw their hats in the air they usually tuck $20 or so in the headband for the lucky kid to find.

I have to say I really feel sorry for the folks who opted not to serve in the military. Yes, there was some stuff that was a pain in the *** to deal with, but we did get to do a lot of really cool stuff that folks who've never served will never get to do.

I always thought this was a pretty cool shot. Would really hate to be there about now!

my deepest thanks to all who serve or have served...

Thanks for the great pics guys. I never regretted joining the Air Force for one second. Not all of the memories are good ones but it sure changed the way I thought about my life and the way I live it now. I would do it all over again if I could. A big salute to all of our active duty and veterans.:icon_salut:

That B-52G crashed as a result of gross negligence by the pilot in command. That was outside Spokane, WA at Fairchild AFB, in 1994. The crash killed all on board, and narrowly missed the AF Survival School buildings in the picture. You see that little black mark in the picture? That is one of the crew bailing out of the aircraft - he died, also. The pilot was the squadron commander, and was being supervised by the Wing stan/eval chief. No one wanted to fly with the guy, from what was known at the time, and this was to be his last flight. They were practicing for an upcoming air show.

Description of the circumstances around that crash:

Remember that crash well. Bad piloting by a Lt. Col. who thought he was a real hot dog. Too bad that he took three other guys with him.
