Well after many years "Mopar less" I did it........Got me a 66 Plymouth satellite. 2 door hard top. Bucket seats console. I want to drop a big block in this car and wake up my neighborhood. I have only had the car for about 3 weeks and I am still just thinking about my options. The car is in great shape. I was wondering how much this car is worth in real good condition. Are these cars rare? I was into Cudas in my younger years......cant afford what people want for them now (owned 4) even did a spell with a challenger. But those were the old days now Ive got this Old Satellite and was wondering if I have a gold mine or Im stuck with the shaft........does any one have an opinion on this subject.....some of my friends have suggested maybe a GTX clone, is that possible ? Currently this car has a whimpie 318 auto. Not for long if I continue to own it.........tell me what ya think !

Welcome to the site. As far as the 66 satellite goes, I too would have fun Big blocking it,
What it's worth ? that's very questionable, and we both know how opinions are. but look at it like this, It may not be "MUSCLE CAR GOLD" , I promise you it's no where near the bottom of the barrel either.
Just be really glad the car is in Great condition, there isn't as much reproduction parts available for the 66/67 B bodies as there are the 68/69/70 B bodies right now.

Once a Mopar guy, always a Mopar guy.....even when you don't own one.

Welcome

X2 I've been looking localy on Craigslist and there are plenty of 440's around. Some are pretty reasonable some are to much. I'm goin' to look at one this weekend. I went muscle moparless for 14 years. I had 2 dodge trucks though.

Welcome aboard, those are great cars. they just don't make them like that any more.

Heck, it's even cool with a 318, but I'm biased in your car choice since I currently own a 66 Belvedere. Mine is getting a 440 very soon.

No way to accurately make a GTX clone since they didn't exist in 66, but an HP2.......

Foster Farms Chicken car clone is out too. That was a 67 4 dr.

Nice to here about your 66 Belvedere......I almost bought one, that is I looked at one before I decided on th 66 satellite. The guy had an awesome 383 that rocked a city block when He fired it up. It was red with white top, flawless interior, fancy wheels and exhaust done real sweet..was hard to find any flaws...But he wanted $18,000 for it. I was in heaven looking and hearing it fire up. I didnt want to shell out 18 grand so I started looking for a car I could make like his. That is how I ended up with the satellite.
The car has just been painted. I wish I was the person who did the prep work. I am very picky when it comes to a paint job. Anyways to most people its a sweet car. The body is very straight. Even with my standards. The interior has all been redone. Now all I have to do is make it rock ........like the belevedere I wanted but could not afford. I will more than likely have 18 grand in this satellite when Im done. I paid $7,450 the way my Satellite sits........I hope thats not to much!

Welcome! Nice car choice, I myself have a 66 sat. three on the tree with 318, But I plan to make it a 383 *Or 440*/four on the floor. I payed 2250 for mine but it needs a complete resto *Tranny is shot, Engine is pretty bad, needs some floor work, interior is bad, both quarter panels need to be replaced but we have them* the trunk is pretty solid though.

Anyways we want pics!

A good paint job and interior is at least $7450.00. Does not sound like you got hurt at all. Mine was $1700.00 and it looks like every penny, plus I had to do a bunch of work before I could even drive it.
