OK I am going to try to sound like I know what I'm doing LOL!! I am replacing the ignition on my 1967 GTX 440. At some point it was converted to a Mopar Chrome box electronic ignition. The MSD box calls for a switched 12v wire to turn on the unit, can I use the blue wire from the ballast for this if ballast is bypassed?
Next there is also a wire that goes to the Mopar box that also is "hot" when the key is in the start or run position. I can't follow the wire very well. What is it for and what should I do with it?

On the MSD the smaller red wire that they say needs to be hot (12 volts) in the key on ign 1 pos also needs 12 volts while cranking. You need to hook the ign 2 (hot in start) circuit also to the red 12 volt key on wire so it gets spark while cranking. If you dont also hook the ign 2 circuit to the red 12 volt key on wire to the MSD box you will not get spark while cranking. Course the heavier red and black wires go right to the battery and two wires from the MSD box go right to the coil. Most of the time the white wire is not used. Ron

Thanks for the reply!! I would not have hooked both Ign 1 and 2 up. You saved me some time for sure. It makes sense after looking at wiring diagram again.
