Yeah rewire it would be 1st order of business

Lucas wiring was OK only IF
you don't ever drive in the rain, don't need your wipers
you don't need your lights in the dark or
you don't need/use your heater when it's cold or A/C when it's hot
as long as you don't care if all your electrical switches work
only intermittently

its not the wiring you have to worry about its the switches attached to it
we have" Lucas specialists "over here all they work on is jags and mg's ,don't you have such an animal over there

Hmmmm..... cars that assist you in building character, then. One of my cousins had an MG with that character building
set of wiring. We ended up replacing everything in '79 when we swapped in a 273 my uncle had lying around.
