I thought I would put up a few pictures of my '66 Belvedere project. The car was sold to the pawn shop my son-in-law owns a couple of months ago. He called me, I dropped everything and made a quick trip to the shop and did a quick inspection. The car is pretty much rust free, has the factory 273.

Here is the 440 that is going in the Plymouth. Can anyone identify the bucket seats from the picture? The car was a bench seat, the buckets were just sitting in it..

I have all the trim/molding, the car is headed for a media (walnut with a small amount of sand mixed) blasting. I have a quote of $3300.00 to blast, do the body work and paint. I am thinking black, the car is really straight with very little rust. I do like the original color but I am leaning toward black. Going back with the original side trim pieces. The pictures are the car as I found it.

I posted a couple of months ago about finding the car in the introduction thread. Learning a lot reading past posts and looking forward to the build.

Thanks,
Rick

Nice looking project. I like the original color too. Bucket seats looks like the ones I had in a 67 chevelle.

Nice project, $3,300 doesn't sound to bad for blast, body and paint "actually it sounds pretty cheap". Very nice

I agree, almost sounds too cheap but I do know the guy, he only works on older cars and really does a good job. He has been doing body work out of his home garage for about 35 years now and I know from some of his past projects he will do me right. He's good and does things right. The car has very little body damage or rust. I'll trailer the car up to Nixa Mo. for the media blasting after I remove the engine/transmission and the rest of the trim pieces, dash and glass.

Good looking project you have going there, and i agree, they sure look like the buckets i had in my Chevelle some years ago, Mine was a 66 but i didn't have the buttons to move the seat back.. Body looks pretty solid! Good luck with it, looks like a great ride...

Thanks, now I need to decide if I sell the seats and try to find a pair of Plymouth seats or just use what I have...not bringing the car back to stock so the seats pictured may work but I'm thinking the Plymouth seat cover kit would not. The car had a bench front seat that I did not get but it had the factory back seat still in the car. I am planning on changing to buckets and a floor shift/console. Any thoughts?

If they are Chevelle seats someone would probably buy them. You guys memory on the seats is better than mine, back in the day I had a 67 SS Chevelle and a couple of Chevy ll Super Sports but cannot remember the seat details...

ga66mopar.....I saw pictures of your car on the web somewhere up to that point I was planning on removing the side trim pieces, your car convinced me to keep the side trim pieces on, you have a great looking 66.

Thanks,
Rick

I struggled with the thought of removing the side trim pieces also. After it was all said and done I'm glad I left the side trim on. I think the side trim really looks good with dark colors. thanks
