Figured i'd share this as the street value of b bodies seems to be a commonly discussed subject. One of my good friends has been on the hunt for a solid driver for over a year and i can say his patience has paid off. After looking at a bunch of cars that just didn't pan out for one reason or another he stumbled on an online classified ad for a 69 GTX. At this point we expected the worst as most cars we looked at had issues and he really was not looking for a project.

Criteria was this:
1. solid body
2 minimum of nice driver quality paint with no cancer
3. functional mechanicals (solid running condition with no known issues)
4. preferably some documentation (fender tag, hopefully broadcast sheet)
5 (budget 40k tops for the right car, hoping for low to mid 30's)

Anyway, this car turned out to be super nice and he was able to make a fair deal on it. The car had a complete restoration in 2013 and was done to a high quality standard. Amazingly the car came with the window sticker, original bill of sale from the dealer, original owners manual/ packet and the broadcast sheet. Too cool!
Car has all matching numbers drivetrain which we verified. All sheetmetal is original and no evidence of major repairs... wow. Trunkpan original and SOLID

i know... i know. Ill get some pics when it gets delivered later this week.

Anyway just sharing a buying experience that ended up well after a lot of hunting.

Sorry about the sideways pic.... doesn't want to rotate

That's too bad. I have just the car you described for sale right now.

Congrats!

Sounds good we need pictures for some reason everything I've been going to look at gos from perfect show quality to one leg in the dump! I'm getting fed up with liars .

I think your friend experienced what a lot of folks are these days, which is having to deal with loads of people who are dumping what are essentially parts cars as project cars. The problem is many of them paid top dollar for these wrecks because they were sure values were going to keep going up, and since they've been going down in value these folks still demand top dollar for what is now junk.

There's no point in buying a parts car and dumping $$$$$ dollars into it when there is a glut of restored cars coming onto the market at a decent price and require $ to make them really nice.

Sounds like a nice score at that price & criteria
congrats to you Buddy
