Figured i'd share this as the street value of b bodies seems to be a commonly discussed subject. One of my good friends has been on the hunt for a solid driver for over a year and i can say his patience has paid off. After looking at a bunch of cars that just didn't pan out for one reason or another he stumbled on an online classified ad for a 69 GTX. At this point we expected the worst as most cars we looked at had issues and he really was not looking for a project.
Criteria was this:
1. solid body
2 minimum of nice driver quality paint with no cancer
3. functional mechanicals (solid running condition with no known issues)
4. preferably some documentation (fender tag, hopefully broadcast sheet)
5 (budget 40k tops for the right car, hoping for low to mid 30's)
Anyway, this car turned out to be super nice and he was able to make a fair deal on it. The car had a complete restoration in 2013 and was done to a high quality standard. Amazingly the car came with the window sticker, original bill of sale from the dealer, original owners manual/ packet and the broadcast sheet. Too cool!
Car has all matching numbers drivetrain which we verified. All sheetmetal is original and no evidence of major repairs... wow. Trunkpan original and SOLID
i know... i know. Ill get some pics when it gets delivered later this week.
Anyway just sharing a buying experience that ended up well after a lot of hunting.
Sorry about the sideways pic.... doesn't want to rotate
