Hello everybody I am new to to this forum. I just bought a 72 charger with a 318/4bl for $3500, I think i got a fairly decent deal on it, did I? As you can see its in pretty good shape, the interior is really nice, the body has very minimal rust. I just bought a 71 roadrunner dash, with the tach on it to replace the stock dash, and I also bought a stereo from retrosoundusa.com, which should fit nicely. Its just a plain jane and I would like to spruce it up a bit. Im most likely going to keep it green, perhaps paint it sublime green with the black stripe like the 71 R/T or maybe black with green pin-stripping. I want to replace the hood, what do you think would look better, a bulge hood or an aar hood like the cuda? http://rides.webshots.com/album/569300217TVeojt, http://rides.webshots.com/album/569579495uuNzhO.
have any other ideas of what I could do it? I really don't care about restoring it, i just want to have fun with it. I would like to eventually drop a bigger engine in it. What would need to be done to put a big block in it? different transmission?

A good deal?

CRAP! You KILLED him on it. Looks great.

As far as a different hood, that's a "Your choice" issue, just keep the stock one to the side and covered. The car is worth more with it undamaged.

Awesome charger! I really love that year and would love to get another one sometime. I would go with the power-bulge hood. It looks really really good on that generation of charger.

Cool glad you like it. The gal i bought it from wanted $4500 for it but I talked her down. Yeah Im most likely going to get a bulge hood, I looked in to getting one with the air grabber but, it seems like it would be expensive and somewhat difficult to get it installed.

Man I used to have a dark green one just like it back in the day. great car.

Welcome! You got a lot of bang for your buck. Yes, a big block has a different bolt pattern on the back than than a small block, so you would have to replace the transmission if you swapped out the 318 for a big block.

Welcome and thats a killer deal. I paid about that same price without any interior and the motor still doesn't run. (But thats partly my fault as I haven't worked on it in about a year due to us saving for a house. Would much rather have a garage to put the car in then leave it outside once the restoration really takes off.

The more pics you put up the better deal I think you got.

Hell Ya you got a good deal!!! that thing is cherry! the engine compartment looks so clean you can eat off it! Welcome
