I thought prairie dogs were pretty crazy but think squirrels earned their name x's 3!They are one of the zaniest creatures out there.
I feed them out behind my shop and that pic is where that beater truck parks back there and the feeding 'table' is on a large tote in the bed. That girl will come to the front of the truck looking for me if there's nothing on the tote and will come into the shop if she doesn't get my attention. When we lived in NJ they would knock on the storm door if my wife ignored them while she was working. If she still didnt look up they would stare at her from the flower box in the window until she opened the door and handed them a peanut.
Kinda like Santa?it's Mr Squirrel! Rebel thinks there's only one, and he's everywhere![]()
They WILL get your attention, that's for sure!I feed them out behind my shop and that pic is where that beater truck parks back there and the feeding 'table' is on a large tote in the bed. BBQ and fire pit wood.....my grille is a little Old Smokey and the fire pit is about twice the size of the OS so....yeah, gotta think small lol. Wish I had buckets of money!

Plenty of hawks around here so the population doesn't get out of hand. The one on the hood of my beater has been coming around for 3 years now.....sometimes I wonder how she avoids them because one came in when she was close by and the hawk was way too close for my comfort. First time to see one up really and didn't realize what their wing span was. Geez!Back in the days of wooden granary’s, those tree climbing rat’s would chew holes in the siding and get at the grain. Dad instructed us knock them off as soon we saw one.
Fifteen years ago, we had squirrels get through the cedar shakes in our cabin at the lake. We have a cathedral ceiling. They didn’t get in to the living area. This happened over the winter. Marten’s came in took out the squirrels and moved into the roof.
10,000.00$ later we had a new metal roof.
Neighbour across the street spends a lot of time at the lake, he keeps the population down a bit. We quite often have a fox around. They like it when we leave squirrels for them. At one time I had a fox that would eat chicken hearts out of my hand.
Had it been sitting for a bit? Mine will sit but usually not for more than 3 or 4 days. Do ya have rabbits around too? I know they can be a pita too. They got under the hood of my 03 Dodge Ram and chewed the wires off to the two rear fuel injectors. That was a fun splice job.
