When I was in the AF and being rebellious, I grew one side of my mustache over an inch longer than regulation while the other side was within regs. The captain that I had to work for was a real jerk not to mention a dork asked me one day if I thought that was funny. In my usual marine fashion the reply was SIR YES SIR. Oh man, the got pissed bad enough that his neck veins looked like they were going to rip out. What surprised me though was the fact that I was able to get it that long before someone finally noticed lol
