I need to put a spare tire in my 69 GTX convert. It has 14X7 Magnums on it but I want just a plain steel wheel for the spare. I can't seem to find what the stock steel wheel width is. Where can I find one?

Are you wanting factory original or just functional? If functional, just go to Discount tire and you can buy a new steel wheel and a used tire. I believe OEM was 7.5. You might have to go with 15 inch as 14s are pretty uncommon these days.

Factory original steelies are 14 x 5.5.......Hemi and six pack received the 15 steelies

Keep in ming they are date coded.......Same goes for the magnums

5.5" sounds about right. I would have guessed 6" maximum.

The 15" were 15 x 7......

Below is an original rim from my GTX coded for 14" steel wheels and f70 14 white stripe Goodyear speedway's
Pic clearly shows the rim diameter 5.5

I believe you. But thought maybe 14"X 6" may have been an option. Several years ago I had a set of 14" Magnum style factory wheels I restored and sold. It sure seems like they were 6" wide. I could be wrong.
