Are there 2 different types of strut Rod bushings for the 1962-1965 B-body front ends?

Not sure, but if ya get some for 68 and up they should work just fine.

Actually, I am sure the 62-65 Front Strut is shorter than the later model, preventing the use of the later year bushings. I have 2 sets of bushings. Per Rock Auto: 2 different styles are shown.

There are 2 types "LISTED" for the early cars. Has anyone with a 62-65 used the type in the first picture? (pictured on the left?) They do not seem to be as sturdy as the set in the second picture. I'm assuming that is why the change for 1965+ year cars. The later (68 thur 75+) cars have a longer flange on the strut end to accomadate the bushings in the picture on the right.

Ive never understood the left ones. bought some and neverused them.

I think that the ones in the first picture are supposed to keep you from having to remove the strut rod. I tried them. Junk! Ended up pulling the lower control arms (good thing I did) and finding that the control arm bushings were bad also. Contacted Bill Reilly and got a set of his adjustable strut rods, tubular upper control arms, and I pressed new pins and bushings in the lower arms. No more weird noises or wandering while driving down the highway.

I orederd the 1 piece from NAPA. My 70 Superbee uses the 2 piece but they do not fit the early style. The 2 piece "early-style" is smaller and the Chrysler/ Plymouth/Dodge manual states: For Taxi-Police Duty.
Thanks for the help!

I'm re-doing them with the units that "black64" purchased from Moog.
Thanks to you all!

I have filed the "small Claims Lawsuit" with the Autobody shop.
My 63 Dodge has been "paid-up" for 4.5 years abd still not finished....
So, on to step 1
Step 1: Small claims lawsuit has been submitted.
