Could someone please tell me what the guide stripe is called and where to order them. /the item connects to the front window with the two holes in the front of the glass. 1967 dodge coronet. Info will be appriciated. jts

Be careful when purchasing these pieces. There are reproductions out there and there are the original Chrysler pieces. The reproductions will work, but the effort to install them is much greater than the original pieces. When purchasing them, verify which ones your purchasing. Personally, if they are not in the original sealed package from Chrysler, they are probably the reproductions. We sell both the reproductions or the originals. The reproductions are $100.00 per pair and the originals are $120 per pair. If you need more information, drop me a message.

I think you are looking for the front window guides. I got a set from a member here but I know I've seen one of the vendors here list them. I'll look for the part #, hope this helps.

Many people when digging into redoing the windows on these cars do not realize that there is the mylar glass channel run at the front of the door glass. After 45 plus years, it has basically crumbled apart leaving nothing but the attaching pins. The glass channel run fits into the stainless trim and rides up and down the channel attached to the door glass. Attached is a picture of the channel.

So your saying that part is attached to the glass? I recall seeing a plastic something over the front edge of the front windows that was attached to the window but rode in the chanel. But when I posted a question here when I was doing my window I got no responses. I remember that mine had a clear covering not black though and yours pictured looks looks like it would stick out past the door channel frame. ???

The mylar channel does two things, it basically acts as a seal to keep wind, rain and debris from entering into the car via the channel. Secondly, it helps to keep the glass from vibrating and rattling inside the channel. Your car had these at one time. Through the years, they fade and turn a dull light tan in color and will eventually crumble into small pieces with use. They are a snug fit and that is why they are flocked to allow them to move smoothly in the channel. The H pins holds the mylar channel to the glass and assist in keeping the glass from vibrating inside the channel.

Does the H pins come with the mylar strips? Thanks for this info!

The "H" pins are available with either the reproductions or the originals.
