iam kinda doing some planning out on a few things for the 73 rally charger the rear valance doesnt have the cut outs for the tips so i was thinking would a 71 rear valance panel with the cut outs on a 73 cause also the big ol bumper gaurds have been taken off so i would like to use the 71 panel cause it doesnt have the slots for bumper gaurds which looks alot cleaner. send some pics of your charger's with some ideas maybe i might be able to use them on mine. thanks:wav::3gears:

The '71 pan bolt holes match up on the '73 quarters but are way off on the '73 bumper brackets. Mine are zip tied. '72 pan is probably the same.

rear pan install

what part of the pan is zip tied is it the area where the qtr panel meets the rear pan? just what to make sure i do this right i love how it looks on your white charger very clean

deck lid stripe

just curious about the rear stripe going across the deck lid ive seen that before on other chargers could it been had on a rally car?

The pan is bolted to the quarters, brackets near the exhaust are zip tied to bumper brackets. The deck stripe is a 68-70 style. Previous owner painted it on and then cleared over it, so it's there unless I repaint the car.

just looking at some parts

been looking at some suspension kits online on the 73's did they have a rubber body bushing under the car floor pan area? seems to be that somewhere i heard someone saying that the 73-74 chargers had some sort of a rubber bushing for the body that the earlier chargers didnt have. i seen some pics of a k-frame for a 73 charger wow its sure is different looking than whats in my 67

The bushings are on the K frame. That is why there is a 2nd coupler(rag joint) just above the steering box. I guess it absorbs some of the flex.

searching for parts

where would be a good source for 73 charger parts? for example this car is going to need a grill both sides have pices missing from them. and tail lights have some cracking and some yellowing on the reverse part of them.

The grills are not reproduced, the tail lenses are, but very expensive. Best place to look is in parts for sale here, eBay, craigslist and moparts. Place a wanted ad, but beware of replies from scammers overseas.

I've had an idea to make a set of dies that would form the lip around the cut out. It would theoretically be "easy" to cut the radius, then press the lip in. This could be done to standard valences.

I wonder if anyone would pay to have this done, in order to recoup costs.

Of couse, "Murphy" clearly states that the day after my six month and $500 project is ready, smoeone will repop cut out valences for $125.
