Had a guy from Canada try to buy my 70 'runner six pack at Carlisle. Passed on the offer, but it got my head gears grinding. I've had the car for 16 years, had lots of fun, but don't really enjoy it any more. At a local cruise a guy said his buddy wanted a 70 six pack. He said he has had multiple Mopars over the years and regrets selling only one - his 70 six pack. He wants to do one more rotisserie resto before he is too old. Well, I figured the car deserved to be with him, we made a deal. I have no regrets selling it but...

What do I get now? Paid off some bills and have some left over. Budget of $10k, maybe $12k max. I want something fun to drive, something I can work on. I already have a 2008 Ram quad cab 4x4, so don't need a truck. Don't want another classic Mopar. The FWD beasties don't really appeal to me. I could get a used 'vette, but IMHO that is the fallback car for older middle age guys. That, and the idea of driving a Chevy makes me want to puke.:evil6:

My wife has a 98 Mustang GT ragtop, and I can get a nice 98 Cobra with mild mods in my price range. Miatas are great handlers but SO common (and underpowered). I was out the other day and found a Pontiac Solstice turbo car. Rare car, enough power, fun to drive.

Any other ideas?

3000gt vr4 95-99 v6 twin turbo awd 322hp stock very fun cars can be had for around $10000

Whaaa, no more classic cars? Haha, If I didn't have my charger... lets see. I'd buy a GTO with a 6.0. They're fast and have great handling, but they aint the purtiest cars on the road.(domestic)

If you aren't worried about domestic, I'm a big fan of the Subbies. You can get an 04 for fairly cheeeeep and they're fast and even better handling.

My brother in Sacramento has one of these for sale in that ballpark.

MGB…. yes a English car! If driving this car with all of 90 hp with the top down doesn't put a smile on your face not much will……Plenty of available parts and not expensive, easy to work on cheap to own

Got any pictures?
I love these vr4's there monsters
The 91-95's are still good but you get a 5 speedmanual instead of the 6 speed and the older models also have flip up head lights

Do you like quiet fast luxury cars? Give Tesla a look. They are stone quiet for sure lol. I was looking at one until my IRA took a hit recently. I still love the sound of a wild V8 but man.....what can I say. We finally have a real slot car that you can actually have fun with not that slot cars were not fun :)

I've got a 68 GTX that could use a good storage garage. That would fill your empty space. You wouldn't own it. You'd never have to work on it. And you could still enjoy the looks of a beautiful car plus keep your $12k. I think we found a solution to your problem......

Hell at the rate your going.... I'd say the Soltice probably the right car for you.

greg on 2nd thought you probably would have a hard time getting in and out of a Chrysler X-fire....being an older middle age guy...:thinker:

I think women would fit a bit better

Sorrry Sonny, I hate to do this to you but, while I'm sure the Crossfire is a nice little car to ride in, there's just one major exterior design flaw that I can't overcome......

My wife really likes that car but I also have a hard time with the back end but he front of it looks good. Looked at them when they first came out and thought they were somewhat hard to get in and out of and cannot imagine her liking that aspect either. A friend of hers has a Mitsu Eclipse (I think) and she hates getting in and out of that thing.
