Good Afternoon Everyone!

I have very SLOWLY been tearing my 62 Dart apart and am now to a point that I am ready to start working on the body. I have the interior, trim and underneath stripped (engine still in engine bay for storage reasons).

I have access to a very weak powered sand blaster and also to angle grinders and wire wheels. I was wondering what is the best way to proceed? Should I attempt to sandblast the entire car? Or would a wire wheel be better?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

(on a side note, minimal rust, when I pulled the fenders off there was some at the bottom, but the care is mostly free of rust)

Be very careful with sand blasting as it can warp the metal . . .

I used wire wheels and DA sanders to remove the paint . . .

You can blast a lot of things on the car. Just not exterior panels, or the backsides of them because of the warping as previously mentioned. Blasting does a real nice job of removing surface rust and paint in corners where it is difficult getting to with other methods.

Would get a couple of used doors with the same thickness of metal and similar paint and practise the angle of attack and air pressure. If your car is reasonably clean. I would just concentrate on the rust areas. That would be my take if I was not sure.

Excellent! Thank you so much guys! So I am thinking, sandblast the bottom of the car, the engine bay, firewall, door jams, window sills, and then wire wheels and DA sanders for the rest.

Ill check back in in a few months, hopefully with some progress! Thanks again!
