New Fast and Furious drift ride at Universal studios.

This is kind of personal, but when I was little and folks were trying to explain heaven to me, I saw myself doing 4-wheel drifts among the clouds. That always stayed with me for all these years.

I don't remember which movie it is but Dom is giving his son a venerating lecture about the Dodge Charger.

Absolutely drifted before it was called drifting.

Had to, in order to get my 70 Super Bee to outhandle new fox body mustangs in curves.

.....and it did!

Sorta the same for me, not strictly drifting but two things that come to mind:
1. Autox in my old Miata which came with some no name hard tires, I had a really difficult time so said F it, I know it can’t stick but if I can predict the sliding maybe I will do better? My times still sucked compared to others but definitely improved with the controlled sliding thru the course.
2. I grew up watching old cars like our dodges on TV, they didn’t really handle, it was more controlled chaos with controlled sliding. In those cars I also called it something like "Figuring out how to hustle the car around corners"

We make the majority of everything for these rides. Our machine shop machines all of the billet pcs. Our fab shop does all the welding and fabricating type pcs and our composite shop does all the cars and other bodies for other rides as well.

Drifting.....was doing that out in the country on dirt roads. Dirt track racers were doing it over 50 years ago then someone thought about burning up tires on a hard surface. A buddy of mine set up a drift car....an El Camino and all the ricers laughed at him until he started beating them then they cried foul.
Drifting, my 68 Charger R/T
Leaving the Ponderosa HS parking lot
(or any parking lot on Fri. - Sat. night cruise weekends)
sideways thru 3 gears, every weekday, from my sophomore to senior years,
for 3 years I had the longest marks
(10 plus years otherwise)
when it was affordable to wreck/shred/smoke tires & buy old muscle cars 'cheap'
