Hello all, been a member of the A body forum for many years and am a fan of B bodies as well. I am looking for help with an engine build and want to get this thing running and driving before snow flies. What I am stuck on is the cam is in and needs to be degreed and I no longer know anyone that can do it. I don't trust myself to do it otherwise I would. Please let me know if anyone can help. Thanks.

Welcome also. Google is ur friend.

Didn’t mean to be short. It’s kinda long to type out. Maybe CompCams has a tutorial on their website?

Hey, Howyadoin? Welcome. I say read the directions and slap it in dot to dot. It's worked for many, many years with no problems. But if your that **** about degreeing it, have a free degree wheel on me. Good Luck

Degreeing a cam is not that terribly difficult.

I did it myself on the first engine I ever rebuilt at age 21.

I did borrow a degree wheel but the pointer was missing, so I used a bent portion of coat hanger.

You can make your own spark plug/stop as well.

The thing that made me the most nervous was putting in the offset eccentric plug, and knowing it was held in by being trapped and nothing else.

That motor turned out just fine and degreeing was the difference in a 284/484 working on a 9.5:1 street engine with a stock converter and being "too much cam".

I just recently bought a degree wheel at a swap meet for $10.
