I'm new, really new. I just bought a '66 Charger today. Real close to barn fresh. All original. 361,auto,104K. I'm planning to clean it up and keep it as an original driver, as possible. for now.
Will post pics after I have it home, Monday or Tuesday
Can't wait for this expereince to unfold.
I have only owned two special cars in life. A'69 Barracuda 318 and '55 DeSoto Sportsman 261 hemi hard top. MoPar all the way.
I look forward to talking to you guys!
I just know this will be a great ride!
This is what I kbow about the car so far.
I live in Glide Oregon. This car was purchased new in in Roseburg about 25 miles from here.
The owners manual is still in the glove box with other paper work confirming this.
There is a plastic card in the engine compartment, for warranty work, I think. It matches the name of the original owner.
First the good news.
The current owner got it from a friend of his about 12 years ago who bought it from the original owner. He only drove it around for 10 to 15 Miles and stored it.
A freind of mine and myself looked over the car for a long time. It is stock original front to back. The stock undercoating did it's job. No bondo and the body is straight.
Engine, interior is unmolested but with much dirt and carpet fading. But it is all there.
The window molding has no cracks, Windows are hard to crank and need lube.
The interior seat vinyl is great with the exception of the drivers seat with is pretty bad and needs help.
Here's the not so good news.
The second owner sanded surface rust and red primered alot of spots.
the long trim on top of the fenders is gone. The clips remain. The current owner has a friend that has them and will get them.
The Big tailite is busted, but a replacement is in the trunk.
The front bumper has a big dent.
That's about all I know for now, besides Mama 's calling me for dinner.
Can't wait to learn more tomorrow.
I will need alot of help from you guys.
