Hey everyone! Jon here, I've got a 1967 Satellite I've owned for about ten years that used to be my 318 daily driver that I'm now going to make into a 440 street/strip toy. The specifics of the motor are in my sig. I
I've got all the rusty parts out of the back of the car and welded in new patch panels (in the case of the rear wheel lips and lower quarters) or fabricated new pieces as in the case of the lower window corners. The front end is all new everything with upgraded 11/16 tie rods, disc brake conversion, sway bar, new shocks, etc...
I've got a new gas tank, sending unit, and 3/8" fuel line to put in before the motor goes in. Other than that, the last big expense will be a new 3.91 sure grip center section. I'm hoping to get it back on the road and make some passes at the strip this summer money and time permitting. I'm hoping for 12s in the quarter, which I think is do-able. This thing, my first car, did 12.80s twenty years ago and it wasn't nearly as thought out as this Satellite:
What the car looked like when it was still my daily driver:
Yanking the original 318 out:
New 440 'plant:
Yanking a tweaked fender off:
Test-fitting a straight, rust-free fender I scored at the junkyard for $15:
Cleaning up the engine compartment:
Take care everyone and :HappyNewYear:
