Hi guys! I am new here to B-BodiesOnly as a poster. I've definitely lurked around here before though. I mostly have posted over at the Coronet forums.

I have been working on a 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 318/727 car. It has been a huge learning experience and a big project.

I am currently working on the bottom of the car using a rotisserie.

I am trying to be on the forums more often to gain knowledge and share whatever I can (although i'm quite amateur). I live in the Raleigh North Carolina area and am always looking for people who build and work on these cars locally for anything from Auto Body blasting and repair to drive train work.

Here are a few pictures

Just got the car:

This picture shows where it is at right now. It was a long road of tearing the car apart while video taping and labeling things. The car has invaded several rooms of my house and exists in labeled tuppaware and bins along with videos of what goes where and how it comes apart/goes back together.

Right now I am in the middle of having an electrician come out to install 220v and picking up an Ingersoll Rand 5hp, 60Gal, 18CFM@90 compressor. Harsh reality of doing body work has hit me.

So far i've just been using a 33gal Craftsman consumer style compressor.

Thanks guys!

Cool man. I am video recording and documenting whatever I can. It is actually harder than I thought it would be to record due to battery life and file sizes. But I try.

I am down to share for sure. IMO the 68 Coronet body type/design is the coolest car! :)

What are your plans? Are you going all original or changing things? I plan doing 440/manual/4:10 rear type.

Red 69: Yes the tail lights are great! I agree. They are timeless.

welcome to FBBO

i am thinking about the doing some videos also
i am kinda unshure on my plans check out the clone wars in the 66-70
section
it has a 383 727 in it now thinking about just doing a top end on the 383
a converter and shift kit for the tran was gonna do a super bee clone
but i am leaning torwards keeping it a 440 and just doing my own thing on it
i rilly like the 440 4speed your doing if i find a good deal on the parts i might switch it over

Welcome aboard the site.. Nice 68 good luck on it!!

Hey guys. It has been a long time since posting. The way things have been going stuff had to change. I switched over to having a lot of core structural work done on the car professionally. A shop is working on it now.
The balance of work responsibilities with how much actually needed to be done on the car vs my expertise got all out of whack.

The downside is obviously money but the upside is the car will now be really solid and done right!

The rear end of the car was very rotted out and parts of the frame needed to be fixed. A lot of this was documented with pictures of me taking the car apart in my garage and doing the rotisserie over at http://www.dodgecoronet.com/ but the database was wiped. So that whole story-thread has been gone for a while now. I might put some older pics up here soon and try to recreate it a bit.

A lot has already been done. Rear crossmember stuff and frame patch were a big one. A surprise was having to replace the torsion bar crossmember. New floors and rear deck panel replaced.

What I am currently researching is how the rear end of the car will be done. I am doing a mini-tub/4-link rear end. I was curious what recommendations you guys have to fill it out and where you would purchase.
The idea is to get a big/wide tire back there.

All info is appreciated. Thanks
