New ignition switch cranks car on ACC not run.

Ok guys, new ignition switch wired in with new key/barrel. 1973RR.
Wiring is like for like in the connector block.
Motor spins over on ACC1 position which is one stage too early. Instead of dash lights/stereo lighting up the motor cranks on first switched position.

Anyone come across this? Lots of people must have changed out their switch and yet I can't find anyone who has had my experience.

The new switch (generic Rockauto type) is also wired differently from the stock switch.
This thread shows pics of the old/new switch but couldn't solve my problem.
