I have just replaced my stock 14 x 6 mopar rally rims/wheels to Magnum 500 rims on my 1969 B-Body Convertible, 15 x 7 in the front and 15 x 8 in the back. The front rims were balanced from weights on the rear side of the rim. It looks like I'm hitting my aftermarket mopar sway bar with the inside of the new rims. The offset of the front 15 X 7 rim is 4.25", has anyone had a similiar issue? Do I have to add a spacer or will a front end alignment be needed when going to the larger wheels/rims? Any ideas would be appreciated thanks.

should get an alignment whenever you touch anything on your cars suspension, wheels or tyres. spacer is possible, if the swaybar is much dofferent from the stock type. i went 15 x 8 front with 5" bs to make sure plenty of room in my old mopar gave heaps fo room then

good luck

What is the widest you can go in the back with magnum 500's on a stock leaf spring suspension for a 68 GTX. 15x10? What backspacing? 5" as well?

a spacer is ok as long as your studs are long enough to allow for lugs to get a good 1/2 in of thread before tightening(for a mild street car)race use normally requires xtra long though studs anyhow for safety.normally an alignment wont cure your problem unless your front end is way out of wack.(almost not driveable)

Post a pic ot two of the problem, and we can better help ya.
