Recently purchased 1968 dodge charger, 318 Motor factory A/C with the buddy seat. Car is in decent shape, but needs work. Supposedly has been off the road since 1981 and stored in a garage since then.

Still figuring out what all I would like to do with the car. In my head some type of restomod.

The car runs and I have only ever driven if off the trailer and into my garage. Currently the car has break failure was thinking about doing disc breaks on all 4 wheels. Currently all drum breaks. Any thoughts?

I plan to keep the car indefinitely but from what I can see, all parts are original.

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. That is a very nice Charger project you have. It looks very complete. The interior looks real good.

Welcome to the site!! Had 4 wheel drums on a 10.60 car and it stopped fine but a street car in the hills might not do so well. Front brakes do most of the work and the rear brakes not so much. Also.....asking that question in the tech section would most likely get you more response.

Greetings from northern Michigan.

Very nice and solid looking. What a great find!

I totally replaced my drums last year (all USA parts, no less!) and they're just fine now.
You can actually go either way on brakes if it's going to be just street.
Good start, get to fixin' it up!

Welcome from Missouri!!

Welcome aboard from Illinois!! Great potential sitting there. Do it your way!

Welcome from IL and nice Charger!

Welcome from PA - nice Charger!

As others above have said, I would put disc brakes up front, and leave the rear drum. Why? (a) Fronts do most of your braking and (b) putting disc brakes on the rear un-necessarily complicates stuff like emergency brakes. Properly set up, the rear drums will work just fine.
