Good afternoon! I just joined this group to hopefully keep me moving forward on my current project.
Back in 1969, my Dad bought a brand new 1969 Dodge Super Bee. He loved that machine. It was a green 383 Magnum beast. Fast forward to June 1973...I was born. He had to trade in the B for a station wagon since my parents needed a family car. First you may say, "hey, you should feel pretty bad that your Dad had to give up his car"...but I am their first born they had been trying for long before he bought the Bee. Still, he missed that car. No hope of ever tracking it back down because the guy who bought it totaled it in 73.
Fast forward to today. A friend of mine offered me a steal of a deal on a green 69 Coronet project car. I've taken him up on the offer and plan to clone it close to resemble the Super Bee my Dad had to give up. I know some of you purists will hate on me for a clone, but I can't afford a good $30-60k true Super Bee for my Dad. He'd be happy to enjoy the rest of his retirement puttering to local car shows in a clone that looks like his old Bee. The look on his face when I asked him what he thought of me trying to build him a car that looked like his old one was priceless.
More about me, though. The nut didn't fall too far from the tree. Muscle cars are in my blood. Currently I am the proud owner of a few 2nd generation Pontiac Trans Ams. I have owned a GM f-body consistently since I was 19 years old. I've always loved the early Chargers and first generation Mustangs, but I got bit by the black Trans Am bug really bad.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Thanks for the add!
