"the uploaded file does not have an allowed extension"

I'm new to new phones! and pics on the forum.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

On my Samsung I see this screen (below) automatically when I press the "upload photos" bar:
Then I press the "Gallery" icon to view or select my pics.

Do you get this Upload Photos bar on a reply screen or new post?? If you press it, what happens?
Error message??

yes it starts to upload, then cacks out with the error

Hmm.
Not sure who your cell service is with, but
I had issues with my new Samsung yesterday, it was loading crap and giving wacky notifications, so I called my service provider (Verizon) and the tech walked me thru a deleting procedure that I never would have figured out.
They can even see your screens if you allow them access.
Much better now.

Hmm.. it's about a month old,, but I can go by and talk to the guy at the store,, seems good techwise

Solved! It was a formatting thing in camera settings. Some pics are in heic, and some are jpg. Set camera to jpg.
Maybe I need an app converter deal.
Thanks everybody and thanks to my in-house tech son!

I did not knew that Samsung/Android phones use the HEIC Format as well.
I had to set my iphone to HEIC because otherwise it would always break up when transfering pictures to my windows computer.
So i'm using a Windows Software to convert the pictures back to jpg after the transfer. Sucks but is a known problem...

That's what I just read as well,, it was an apple thing. This is all above my pay grade, stuff I didn't think I wanted to know

I initially bought an iphone because i wanted something simple to use and safe so i dont have to worry about it.
(Apple only lets you install software they approved, so that makes it relatively save against malware.)

But using it in conjunction with a windows computer is a pain in the butt.

I ordered a librem 5 (linux based smartphone) quite a while ago but they have awful delivery times (chip shortage).
I hope this will interact better with windows.

At least it wont spy on me!
(Which is why i bought it in the first place)
